European banks under growing stress as populist politics come to fore (ABC Radio National)

(5 December 2016) There are growing concerns tonight about the economic implications of Italy's referendum result for the European Union.
The win of the "no" vote is another example of a populist victory sweeping western politics.
But economists argue the associated rejection of austerity and economic reform has potential to derail an already fragile euro-zone.
